Atmosphere
There is always a great atmosphere on the Riviera Maya, but it’s not always a swinger vibe.
It’s clear that the resort aims to create a luxurious feeling with a slightly soft, naughty touch. So if you’re looking for a wild, full-on swinger holiday, this is not the kind of atmosphere you’ll get.
Guests
Desire Riviera Maya’s guests are fantastic, accommodating and generally around 45+. However, not all are swingers, as some guests have chosen this Resort only for the nudist facilities. Our general experience was that several guests needed more time to prepare for a “full swap”, as the Desire resort is their chosen place to try out the swinger lifestyle in a more gentle manner.
Facilities
The Resort consists of the following:
- A large pool where there is entertainment with sexual undertones several times a day.
- A smaller private beach with plenty of sunbeds.
- 3 different restaurants, all of which are all-inclusive.
- 3 excellent bars where you can get everything you want.
- A smaller but well-functioning fitness center.
- A spa and massage area, which is not part of the all-inclusive deal.
- A shop with lots of erotic clothes and sex toys, but it is pretty costly.
- A discotheque with a playroom, which consists of a bed area with space for 6-7 couples.
- A Jacuzzi area with beds for erotic playing that holds space for 9 -10 couples.
We have only given the Resort’s facilities two stars because there are very limited opportunities for sex, and all play areas only consist of beds and without any sexual or erotic inspiration.
Besides that, the Desire Maya standard rooms are very small and usually different from what you expect from a resort in that price range.
Service
Undoubtedly, the Desire Riviera Maya resort provides fantastic service, and their all-inclusive is excellent. The food and the bars are fantastic, with a staff who are always attentive, service-minded, and focused on their guests.
In addition, there are theme nights with erotic shows every night, which helped to create a fun atmosphere and bring most of the hotel’s guests together, who wanted to participate in the late night’s parties after the shows. The Desire Resort also has a “party crew” of attractive young women and men who create an excellent festive atmosphere and mingle with the guests.
The Resort’s all-inclusive covers almost everything in the hotel; however, more expensive wines, massages and tours are not included.
X-Factor
Being able to enjoy the Mexican sun together with a lot of free-spirited Americans who all want a great vacation.
The hotel does everything for you to have a fantastic time at all times of the day, and with a completely fantastic staff.
We felt spoiled from the moment we arrived until we left again, both in the bar, the restaurant and the disco while we were surrounded by the resort’s beautiful guests.
Highlights
Sex
Our experiences were that there was not much sex happening at the Resort, and where there was sex, it was often only private couples playing with themselves. We could feel that several couples wanted to play, but the general atmosphere didn’t appeal to any sexual behaviour, nor did the facilities create the proper framework for any direct sexual behaviour or activity.
Wellness
The Resort has a pool and a “cheeky” jacuzzi which is always well-attended. There also have a lot of massages, including erotic ones, but they are relatively expensive. (300 – 500 us dollars)
Bar
The resort has 3 excellent bars where you can get everything you want.
Dance
The hotel’s disco is open in the evening and is very popular. The discotheque is very basic, with a dance floor and a well-functioning bar.
